Ringfo is not just for books and CDs anymore!

We're testing a new feature on Ringfo -- the ability to look up any item at all, and see (or rather hear) if it is available at Amazon.com.

Just use Ringfo as you normally do -- call the toll-free number, and enter the UPC number found on the product. Remember, you have to enter *all* the digits, even the ones off to the left and right of the barcode, like this :

Then listen as Ringfo tells you the product name, list price, amazon.com price, and any used prices from Amazon marketplace.

When you're done shopping, come back to your computer and go to ringfo.com to review your items, do further research, or place an order. It's that easy! Use it whenever you are out shopping and need more information on thousands of products.

Many of you have asked for this, and we'd like to hear what you think. Drop us a line. It's currently in 'beta', so it's not quite perfect yet.

Amazon has recently launched a new feature called "Product Reviews". We have just incorporated this feature into the Ringfo website.

When you hold your mouse over a product link in your search history, a box will pop open showing the cover, title, description, and so on.

Since this feature is an Amazon 'beta', it is not yet fully tested. Amazon wants to compare the click-through rates of this new feature compared to basic links, so some users won't see the feature at all in their browser.

If you see Product Reviews on your Ringfo history page, let us know what you think.

Some of our users reported problems using Ringfo to look up items having an 'X' at the end of the ISBN. Turns out, this was a bug in our software, which has since been fixed.

To enter an 'X', simply use the # key. The 'X' will only occur at the end of the ISBN, and never for a UPC. We're working on a feature to make Ringfo smarter about this, so you won't have to enter the X at all.

http://ringfo.com/cgi-bin/rss_generator.py?phonenum=<your 10-digit phone number>

And replace "<your 10-digit phone number>" with your phone number. For example, my Ringfo RSS feed url looks like:

Note: the prices and reviews listed in your rss feed were current when you looked up the item; we do not yet update the prices on a daily basis. If this feature proves popular, you can be sure we will.

If you have trouble with your Ringfo rss, we created this page which may help :
